Not much to add

January 12th, 2007 at 11:36 pm

I haven't had much money to add to the challenge lately but I took five whole dollars out of my check today to add to it. LOL I know it's not much but every little bit helps.

I know some people were saying in the forums that you were supposed to take $20 and turn it into more money or find new ways to save, but I guess I am not really doing the challenge that way. I have never had any savings so every bit of money I add to my savings is a new way to save for me. LOL I have always blown money and so saving anything is a big deal to me. Also, I have never cooked so much in my life. We are saving tons of money on fast food and my husband enjoys coming home to dinner. I have been clipping coupons too and looking for things that are on sale that we normally buy. Lots of things have changed around here since I found this site.

I am going to sell some old textbooks (and one new one that I can't use this semster or return without a receipt) on Amazon. My financial aid pays for these books so I am not losing out on that money. It will just come out of the amount that I would get back in my financial aid check. I am also going to list some stuff on ebay.

OK I am done rambling for now Smile Thanks for you guys who read this and support me with your comments and for everyone who has their own blog and gives me so much inspiration.

Starting total: 150.00
Money today: 5.00
New total: 155.00

For many people the $20 challenge is just to keep it going and save something. My attitude is that if you came by the money legally, it can go in. Smile

When I started the challenge in August 2006 I decided to do it MY way - lots of others were as well. I was already saving elsewhere and already have a small sideline business, but was trying to capture any extra money I could to apply to the mortgage...and this is helping. I think the idea of a challenge of any type is to make it challenging to you.

    You are doing fine!!
